  • Location Data (GPS): Including background location
  • Microphone Access: For real-time emergency audio streaming
  • Camera & File Access: For capturing and updating your personal profile photo
  • Login Credentials: Passwords (encrypted in transit)
  • Audio Recordings & Location Logs

3. Why We Collect Your Data

  • To locate you accurately during an emergency
  • To enable responders to assess and act on real-time threats
  • To notify approved responders in your area
  • To maintain a record of panic alert events
  • To support identity verification through profile photos

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell or rent your data. Your information is shared only with approved responders when an emergency is triggered, and solely for the purpose of responding to the alert.

5. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Audio recordings and location logs are automatically deleted 1 month after the resolution of a case.
  • You may request deletion of your personal data at any time by contacting support@panicalertapp.com.

6. User Controls

You have full control over:

  • Enabling or disabling GPS tracking
  • Allowing or denying microphone and camera access
  • Editing or deleting emergency contact information
  • Requesting correction or removal of your account data

Permission requests will be explicitly prompted by the app when features requiring sensitive access are used.

7. Data Security

  • All passwords are encrypted in transit
  • Data is stored on our secure SQL Server infrastructure located in Nigeria
  • Access to stored data is restricted to authorized personnel only

8. Children’s Privacy

PanicAlert is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 13 without parental consent. We do not knowingly collect information from children.

9. Legal Basis and Jurisdiction

This policy is governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Disputes arising from this policy will be handled under Nigerian law.
